Opinions on line to use for trolling
« on: March 20, 2012, 08:50 AM »
Ok fellas.... I'm sure this has been a topic before but thought I'd bring it up again because some of you may have changed your minds after using what you thought was the better line.

Looking for opinions on line for slow trolling..... Type line, Braid, Mono, Floro, etc, including color, lb test, etc.

Thanks

I use small diameter braid or Fireline for my mainline. 6# BPS Fluoro for my leader.

Any particular color on the braid Sandman? or is color irrelevant?

Thanks for the reply

Most of mine are spooled with 7yr old Fireline which started out yellow and is now almost white. I also have a couple rigged with Fireline Ice which is white. I don't think that the color of the mainline matters much when trolling but I could be wrong. What I like most is that if I get snagged, I can pull free without having to reel in 3 other lines while I stop my troll and go back to un-snag. I give the braid a few wraps around the reel handle and just keep going until it pulls loose or the leader snaps.
