To Bob M:   Drop-shotting for bass I can pinpoint right where the structures are closest to deep water and go right to them. I am a rank novice with this new stuff but it's working for me and the bass.....Art

Steve - after powering up the unit it'll ask you to select menu > after selecting menu scroll down to "System Status" then select enter > next screen that pops up will have your software version listed.  I'm assuming you registered your unit upon purchase?  If so, go into your HBird account where it'll list what software version is available for upgrading your unit.

Woody - Appreciate the info and thanks for the post!  Don't be a stranger as I'm sure more questions will pop up for you!   Was wondering about that which is why I asked Steve for his software version.
