Fishing on the bottom?
« on: March 17, 2014, 05:55 AM »
ALL my life I have been told that Crappie can NOT take a bait off the bottom. Is this true?

No, if they're on the bottom. But Crappie almost never feed downward.

have fished a lot of crappie on beds in clear water, if the jig or bait is above them they go after it sometimes if you run the jig below them they do not see it, have put jigs in the bed and the crappie will detect something going on and turn side ways to see what is going on and then often come in at an angle and take the bait.
