I'm new to the site and just registered. I grew up in AZ and fished Roosevelt since I could drive. I own a week end place up in Tonto Basin and will start posting fishing reports, if I catch any.I've attended all of the azgfd meetings in Tonto Basin and was at the one last night. The azgfd is making very good progress in the bass stocking program. They're rehabbing one of the hatchery ponds to warm water and intend to raise our own FL strain bass for future stocking of fingerlings. Approximately 70k fingerling FL bass to be stocked in the spring of 2015 and another 500k FL sac fry as well. I'd expect to see Apache quality bass in the next 36 months or so.However, us crappie fisherman are out of luck. In spite of what they told us at previous meetings, there are no plans to stock Roosevelt with crappie in the foreseeable future. All $400,00 allocated by the commission for Roosevelt, and the $75,000 in donations and matching funds, were dedicated exclusively to the bass stocking program, warm water hatchery modifications and for habitat development. Not one penny for crappie. Pretty disappointing, I wish I had better news but there it is. Pretty obvious that crappie are not a priority with the azgfd and they have no interest in restoring the fishery. frank
