Roosevelt 4/3-4/5
« on: April 06, 2014, 07:39 PM »
Night fished for a couple hours Thursday night near Grapevine trees.  The group I fished with fished 7pm-10pm and caught 5 crappie using bobbers and vertical setups.  Fished Friday 7am-2pm with no kids on my boat so time to see what the lake has to offer.   Primarily trolled 0.5-0.8mph with 1 line trolling BBC or other color 1/16oz jig tipped with minnow.  Other line I cast to shore with jig tipped with minnow.  Fished in cove near Windy Hill and caught 1 crappie on the trolling rig.  Moved to trees near Grapevine and caught 2 more.  Fished Salome in the clay muddy area and caught only bass.  Got lazy and didn't want to clean them so I left them all near the trees for the next day when my parents and boys were on the boat.   Fished Saturday with a full boat 8am-1pm at same places and caught no crappie.  Probably my last day Roosevelt report for a few months.

Good fishing Matt! Friday sounds like you were much over par for Roosevelt's attitude lately. Good luck next time out and as a joke, sounds like maybe freshwater could of picked up one of your released fish!   :dontknow:  :sign0098:
Have a Crappie Day
