Rosey 12-28,29
« on: December 29, 2010, 02:17 PM »
Ended up taking the boys out before the storm, hooking up with LLL. Fished all day Tuesday on the salt end with nothing going on in our boat. LLL got two and the word on the street was slow for everyone. Got on the lake this morning about 8. My boys pulled in a double within 10 minutes of dropping the lines in the water. One on BBC, the other on an Electric chicken, both 1/16th. The one on the left weighed in at 3. I can only hope this is what we are going to see in the future of size out of that lake. Wind picked up and the boys turned to popcicles, so I bagged it early today. Glad they got something and left dear old dad nothing but a knife and a mess to clean up...

My part of this story:

Yesterday, on the water from about 11am until maybe 5.  Nice pre-storm day with light winds.  Fished east of the buoy line in the trees boated 2 Crappie.  Lost one at the boat reaching for the damn net!  One on BBC & the other on Fire Tiger.

Short day today, got on the lake at 8am until 11am with overcast sky & light winds again.  Saw Art trolling his spot near the buoys, didn't want to bother him as he was with clients.  Trolled in the trees again with NADA.  Was able to pack up camp & head home just as the rain started about 12:30.  Ran into snow on 87 climbing Mt Ord.

Glad to see the kids each catch a fish.  Guess I was just the camera boat today.  All things concerned, not a bad trip.

i wonder if a serious pro like art, with more time and knowledge on and off the water than any of us, knows hes bein called a frickin newbie. thats good humor. fearless why dont we give him an honoary doctorate in crappie fishin. i hate losin my cash to a newbie but id be honored to hand it over to a guy with a doctorate in slabs. :notworthy:
