Dear prospective member
« on: December 31, 2010, 09:25 AM »
Thank you for your interest in membership with the Arizona Crappie Association (AZCA), the first Crappie fishing club in Arizona. We are fun loving group of anglers who all share a special interest in Crappie. And with several of our desert lakes stuffed full of world class Crappie, we want promote and protect our sport. Our club is statewide and we meet on the second Saturday of every month. Our meetings are based around an event like a day of fishing, a fishing tournament or a camping trip. We also post our meeting agendas on in our private clubhouse forum so members that are unable to make a meeting can still “attend” virtually via the internet. Our clubhouse forums are a benefit of membership where lots of info is shared, much more detailed info than you will find in the public forums.

We also have four “open meetings” a year. They are in March, April, September and October. These events are friendly fishing derbies that are open to the all registered members on our website that want to prospect our club. These meetings are a great time to come and meet some of our members and decide if the AZCA is for you. Our big fall event is now called “The Bob Hirsch Crappie Classic” is held every October in honor of one of Arizona's greatest outdoorsmen, the late Bob Hirsch. And every April we hold our annual “Spring Crappie-Fest” which is always a great time! At these events the club pays for the campsite and AZCA members camp for free. This is another benefit of being a member.

Our current membership is made up of many different anglers. From weekend warriors, retired people who fish several times a month to professional fishing guides, we get the real details on the bite that others could only wish for. Joining the AZCA is a two step process. First you attend one of our open meeting and meet some of our members. Then you attend a second meeting with an application filled out, we vote you in, you pay your dues and you're a member. It's that easy! Make the most of your time on the water, join the AZCA today!

Best personal regards,

This week we have come up with a great idea that is another benefit of being an AZCA member. We're calling it our "911 List". This is a list of members who are willing to help other members if they get into trouble while on the way to, at or coming home from a fish trip. The list is currently at 20 members and its still growing. Just think if you had 20 or more good buddies you could call in time of trouble. It may save you some serious heartache and money.
