Fishing rebound after the cold front
« on: February 01, 2011, 12:07 PM »
I'm fairly new to the fishing/lake scene in Arizona. How long does it take for the fishing to rebound ( the lake water to warm back up) after a cold front like the one we are getting now? I'm not used to fishing in lakes that run 75 to 100 foot deep. I'm sure it's dependent on the average temp following the front, but let's say we get avg temps for the next few weeks in the 70's.

The Crappie bite slows due to low pressure. It usually takes 2 to 3 day to rebound, for Rosey 3 to 4 days.

have found in the past the water temps warm up slow when the weather is nice and do the same going down when the weather gets cold, the difference on this storm even though there is no moisture is the WIND >:( supposed to be real windy the next couple days and that will act like a big evap cooler and bring the water temps down faster than anything so it may take a while for the temps to move back up. :o

Bring on spring ;D

I'm waiting until the weekend of the 19th. Not by choice, my wifes birthday is the 12th and she would kill me dead if I went fishing that weekend.

Then you would have more time to fish.
GOD BLESS
