Did a day trip 10/16
« on: October 17, 2017, 09:06 AM »
Ran out to Alamo for the day with a buddy yesterday, marked a lot of bait and fish in the 32' range right at or above what appeared to be the thermocline. There was zero wind till around 3PM and even then not much. HOT...like 95ish! Surface temp was 73 degrees.
Picked up 5 crappie and one small bass over trees, 30' down in 40-45 fow. Crappie were small for Alamo but my buddy kept 3 for a meal. Would like to have something more positive but that was it for us.
We did talk to some folks from Nebraska that had 7, 5 small ones and 2 that they said were 2 pounds. They were fishing the river end in 15 of 20 fow.

Hey good to hear a report from Alamo.  Been a few months since I've been there.  It was hot at Roosevelt mid-afternoon this weekend and we are at highs 10 degrees higher than normal.  Hopefully this is the last of the heat for this year.  Thanks for the report.

Thanks for the report at Alamo. I'm going to give Bartlett a try this week. Hope to have some good news from there

I have also thought about trying Bartlett. It used to be SO GOOD for me but recent years, not so much. Will look forward to your report!
