Looking at purchasing my first "used" boat
« on: July 20, 2018, 08:45 AM »
I found a boat that I am going to go look at this weekend.  It is a 2004 Triton 163 Sport (aluminum boat).  Has a Honda 50 4 stroke and all original equipment.  The asking price was $6,750...but I responded that I wouldn't pay more than 6,000 for an older aluminum boat.  Condition appears to be good for the year with normal wear.  The seller said he would likely accept that offer.

My question is if $6,000 would be a good or fair price?  I know a boat, like anything, is worth as much as you are willing to pay for it, but I am trying to find a good deal.  (I found previously a 2002 tracker crappie edition for $3,500 but it sold quicker than I could get to it.  I thought that was a deal!)  Does anyone have any opinions about this boat regarding performance, quality or price?  Thanks in advance!!!
