Bartlett Dam Road Open - (Mountain Fire Update)
« on: June 10, 2019, 12:58 PM »
Bartlett Dam Road is now open for public use

The Mountain Fire, which closed down Bartlett Dam Rd over the weekend is about 50% contained right now and doesn't appear to be affecting Bartlett Damn Road, so it has been opened to the general public now.

If you do decide to head out to Bartlett or Horseshoe, TNF asks that you don't stop on any roadway or walk around any of the burnt areas. They're still working on putting the fire out and don't need anyone hindering their work.

Also, the crappie are in the lakes, not at the burn sites!  :D

Incident Overview

Summary: Bartlett Dam Road is now open for public use. Bartlett Lake Recreation Area and Horseshoe Lake Recreation Areas, are also open to the public. Please be careful driving along the Bartlett Dam and Horseshoe Dam roads and we ask that you don't stop along the roadway, or walk around in the burned areas. Also, there may still be smoke visible throughout the day, due to interior pockets of fuel igniting.

Background: The Mountain Fire was reported just before noon on Friday, June 7, 2019. It quickly grew in size, due to continuous fuels and gusty winds. Very minimal growth was reported Sunday.
