That's great news.  Will be interesting what depth they end up at.  Hopefully a nice range of depths given the often fluctuation of depth on that lake.

Matt I think right now they are doing like they did at Roosevelt putting the habitat down 50' or so in anticipation of the lake dropping down to a point where the new habitat attracts fish. The only issue different with Bartlett at full pool it is mostly just scrub brush that falls apart after a short time then after that there is not much of anything till the lake gets much lower and even then some of the old trees are gone from idiots cutting them down for firewood etc. I think they are working to never have the habitat exposed above water?

AZGFD posted some info about the habitats here: https://fishaz.azgfd.com/fisheries-management/available-bartlett-lake-habitat-map/

I've posted a sticky thread in our Bartlett Lake reports forum that provides a direct link to the AZGFD habitat map.  So if you ever lose the address to the map, just go to the Bartlett Lake reports forum and find it there.

Cronkite news did a nice piece on the habitat project at Bartlett. Dave Weedman and his crew have been out there in the sun and heat building the habitat and haven't even asked for volunteers to help do the build. They are I believe about half complete on the first phase.

the story starts at about 9:25 into the you tube video

From AZGFD:
Many of the Bartlett Lake artificial habitat structures are holding lots of fish! As water levels continue to drop (88-percent full today and dropping ~1 foot/week) , we expect more fish to hold on the Georgia cubes we've been installing. Our fisheries biologists used side-scan sonar to show this underwater image of fish (scattered blips) above and around Georgia cubes.

As usual, you can find the updated link to Bartlett Lake habitat structures and locations at the top of the Bartlett lake reports forum: http://www.azcrappie.com/forum/index.php/topic,4115.0.html

Man, Facebook makes it difficult to share posts outside of it's platform.  It's from their Facebook page: https://www.facebook.com/fishaz.azgfd

I went there before I asked and didn't see it. How old of a post is it?
