After discussing with the club officers, we have decided that we need to officially cancel the Spring Crappie Fest to the public for this year. As many of you've seen, restaurants, bars, etc. have been closed down to prevent groups from assembling causing the spread of the COVID-19 Corona virus.  Companies have requested employees work from home and all schools have been closed.  This is expected to go through the end of March, but quite possibly this "social distancing" you've heard of to help prevent the spread of the virus may go on for several months.  The AZCA does not want to be irresponsible in this regard and must abide to the rules set forth by the state of Arizona, the federal government, and the CDC recommendation of canceling gatherings of 50 or more for the next 8 weeks.  We also have to remember that while many of us won't be impacted directly by the virus, we may be hidden carriers and impact of such on the older members of the club or those with compromised immune systems could have grave consequences.

So, having said that, the Arizona State Parks are planning on staying open: https://azstateparks.com/coronavirus

Individuals are welcome to continue and keep their camping reservations and camp/fish that weekend or whenever to their choosing. There just won't be any official AZCA events that weekend including Friday BBQ, raffle, meeting, poker, etc.

Please, if you do start to feel sick or ill, do not go out in public including camping/fishing where you'll potentially be around others.

AZCA Members, please see internal post here: www.azcrappie.com/forum/index.php/topic,4319

Weird and tough times for sure. Tough decisions need to be made that will not always be popular and 100% agreed with. I support this administration's decision in these tough times. Even though I will miss the event, fishing derby, fine food, poker tourney, raffle, and your smiling faces erroring on the side of caution at this point in time is the best course of action.

I do owe for shirts, hats, and dues and do not want to put anybody in a finical situation as people are getting laid off and the economy is struggling. Could someone post how I can pay for stuff ordered and dues. I am old school so an address where I could send a check would be great. Just a thought maybe send a single check to the club and the club could paypal Matt and Mac (I think they both came out of pocket for shirts and hats)

I love this fishing club!!! Use common sense and stay safe.
