Mission: Provide grass roots anglers the opportunity to tournament crappie fish and grow
the sport of crappie fishing on an informative, educational, competitive, fun, and friendly
stage while promoting our local fisheries, communities, and sponsors.
Beginning in 2020, Crappie Masters Clubs will be forming all over the United States.
Each club will be formatted the same with a touch of local flavor and will be headed up
by a local Tournament Director. A set of rules, membership guidelines, payback
schedules, sponsorship packages, banners, and scales will be provided. Each
tournament will have a cash payback and plaques awarded for the top teams. A season
long points race will take place on a 100 point system where angler teams will earn
points for their finishes per tournament and there will be a cash payback for the top
teams. Teams will be able to qualify for the club championship at the end of the regular
season by placing high in tournaments and the points race. The club championship will
follow up the regular season for qualified teams with a cash payback for top teams. All
tournaments must be completed by the second weekend of September each year.
Teams will have the opportunity to qualify for the Crappie Masters National
Championship through their club. Here are the details!!
1. Membership: A $35.00 annual membership is required to fish any Crappie
Masters tournaments. Membership is good for all Crappie Masters tournaments
including in state or out of state clubs and national qualifying tournaments. Each
member will receive a Crappie Masters Monthly Newsletter, Angler Discounts,
and will be entered into a monthly drawing for some great sponsor prizes.
Membership is required before you may participate in any tournament and can
be paid at registration. All membership monies will be paid to Crappie Masters.
2. Tournament Directors: A Tournament Director will be selected by Crappie
Masters for each club. Responsibilities include: selecting tournament sites and
dates, advertising club events, conduct registration and weigh in for each
tournament, enforce all rules and regulations, provide tournament results, sale
local sponsorships, fulfill local sponsor obligations, and maintain a professional
code of conduct
3. Club Tournaments: Each club will be required to conduct a minimum of six (6)
regular season tournaments. Additional tournaments can be conducted.
Tournament Director will select the lakes and dates. Tournaments may not
conflict with any Crappie Masters National Qualifying dates. Fishing hours will be
posted by Tournament Director. Crappie Masters rules will apply with the
exception of adjustments for local and state regulations. Tournament Director will
set up registration dates and sites and weigh in site. Entry fees are $100.00 per
tournament with a 90% payback. $5.00 per team will be held back for the big fish
pot and $5.00 will be held back for the annual points race. A payback schedule is
provided for all scenarios. Top three (3) places will be awarded a plaque.
Tournament Director will send results and pictures of the top three places and big
fish winner to Crappie Masters following the tournament. Tournament winners
will be qualified to fish in the Club Championship. Winning anglers will be

recognized on the Crappie Masters Website and other promotional materials.
Fish release is encouraged. Tournament Directors are allowed to participate and
must have their fish checked in and weighed by a selected participating team.
4. Points Race: Each team entered into a tournament will receive points based
upon their finish on a 100 point system per tournament. 100 points for 1 st , 99
points for 2 nd , 98 points for 3 rd , 97, 96, 95, 94.............. Teams not weighing in will
receive 25 points for participating. A points champion will be recognized at the
end of the regular season and cash paybacks will be awarded along with
plaques. Crappie Masters will keep track of all points races. Points races will be
posted on the Crappie Masters Website. The top ten (10) teams in the points
race, the top Adult/Youth team, and the top Male/Female team will be qualified to
fish in the Club Championship. A bump down in the points race will take place to
get the ten (10) points race spots filled for the Club Championship
5. Club Championship: Must be conducted by the second weekend in September.
Only qualified teams may participate. (tournament winners, top ten (10) from
points race, top male/female in points, top adult/youth in points, and any team
entering all regular season tournaments), $200.00 entry fee, 90%payback,
$10.00 goes to big fish pot, payback for top three places. Trophies for 1 st , 2 nd , 3 rd
will be awarded. Club Champions will be recognized on the Crappie Masters
Website and other promotional materials.
6. Club Expenses: Each club will be responsible for their own expenses. 10% of all
entry fees and 100% of local sponsor monies will be managed by the
Tournament Director. Club expenses may include office supplies, banners,
advertisement, printing, scales, plaques, trophies, etc. At the end of the season,
leftover monies will be divided equally between the Tournament Director and
Crappie Masters.
7. Local Sponsors: Local Sponsors will take club tournament fishing to the next
level. Crappie Masters will provide a local sponsorship package to present to
potential local sponsors. Club Members can help secure many local sponsors so
don’t be hesitant to ask for help. Crappie Masters will support all local sponsors
and Clubs will support Crappie Masters National Sponsors. Win, win for
everyone.
8. Teams fishing the club tournaments will have an opportunity to qualify for the
Crappie Masters National Championship where they will have the chance to fish
for over $120,000.00 in cash and prizes. Crappie Masters will invite the top five
(5) teams from the annual Club Points Race and the top three (3) teams from the
Club Championship tournament. Another chance to qualify will come from the
Points Accumulative Qualification. Any team fishing at least one (1) Crappie
Masters National Qualifier will be able to combine their points from the national
qualifier and their points from their club tournaments to earn a spot. They must
accumulate a minimum of 350 points and must submit their points to Crappie
Masters for verification.
9. Crappie Masters will be supplying Clubs with National Sponsor product
throughout the season to use as giveaways, prizes, drawings, or raffles. We plan
to have at least 20 clubs so product will be limited but will be instrumental to our
success.
