Rod Tip Repair Kit / How To
« on: October 25, 2021, 05:22 PM »
Anyone have a good recommendation on a rod tip / eyelet repair kit they would recommend?  Do they work, any special tools needed?  I have a few rod tips and eyelets that need repair might just do it myself.

Rod tips are easy. Kits are cheap and often have different sizes. They clone with a wax glue stick. Heat the glue with lighter rub on the tip, slide on the eye…hold in place a few second. Guide eyes a little trickier.
When in doubt, set the hook!

+1 on Liars corner. I have done my own but for $20 Richard does a hell of a good job and they lasted much longer. Havent had to replace any he has done yet. May have even been less than $20. Its a little more for eyelets mid rod but again done right.

The guys at Sportsmans Warehouse have a huge selection and they'll glue it on.  $4 last time I had it done.  I keep a kit in the boat for quick temporary repairs but for long term the guys at Liars and Sportsmans have tips that will fit perfectly.
