AZCA Crappie Tournament Summary
The Arizona Crappie Association's Spring Crappie Fest 2022 is in the books. Congrats to Team Roll Tide (Dave Thompson and Zach Steed) with the top total weight for 7 fish at 13.37 lbs (average 1.91 lb per crappie). Close in 2nd place went to Team Cameron's Custom Jigs (Cameron Gilliam and Randy Howton) with total weight of 13.12 lbs. 3rd place wen to Team Brothers Petrini (Russ Petrini and Joe Petrini).  The Wild Willie Biggest Crappie award was a tie going to both Team Roll Tide and Team Cameron's Custom Jigs weighing in a 2.12 lb crappie.

Of course the weekend was more than the crappie tournament. The Arizona Crappie Association held the entire D-loop so it was nice having the group assembled together. Saturday morning at safe light we had 12 boats registered in the tournament. For many, fishing started off well and then slowed down a little later morning/early afternoon. Weigh-in was at 3pm and winners announced immediately after where the winners were awarded trophies and paid their winnings.

Meeting, New Members, and BHCC 2022 Event Location & Date
We then held our April meeting and welcomed 3 new members to the Arizona Crappie Association - welcome Mal Hiatt, David & Edna Smith, and David & Ellen Rokusek!! Then, all members voted for the date and location of our next big event, the Bob Hirsh Crappie Classic.  This event is set for Alamo Lake on October 15, 2022 We hope to see you all there.

Raffle & Donated Items
After the meeting, we held our raffle giving away an ACC Crappie Stix 14' trolling rod, an ACC Crappie Stix 11' jigging rod donated by Liar's Korner, an Outland Firebowl propane firepit, 2 zero gravity chairs, 2 Tactical LED flashlights, 2 dozen custom jigs donated by Cameron's Custom Jigs, a B'n'M Capps & Coleman minnow rig, and a Bass Pro gift card.

Shout out to Liar's Korner for donating the ACC Crappie Stix 11' GS11M Jigging Rod for our Spring Crappie Fest 2022 raffle. This is a $73.99 value and helped bring in funds for the raffle. The association also purchased ACC Crappie Stix 14' Trolling Rod and gave that away at the raffle as well. Here are the winners of both rods from that raffle, Cameron Gilliam and Randy Howton. Cameron also donated 2 dozen jigs from Cameron's Custom Jigs to the raffle and thank you for that as well.

Fish Fry and Night Festivities
Finally, at 6pm we held a fish fry potluck with the crappie fried up, fried potatoes, and many sides and desserts.  Finally, night was capped off by some going out fishing while others stayed in for some camp fire and fishing stories.  Thanks again to everyone who attended, helped out, donated prizes, etc.

Following on facebook the comments from AZ Mule Deer Association members that attended SCF, they had nothing but glowing remarks for the club and the derby. I wanted to give a shout out to all in attendance that helped, volunteered, and the officers of our club. Comments mentioned were , well run & organized, fun, and some great sticks in this club. We all know this but it sure is nice to hear from new members and other crappie enthusiast. Way to represent to all that attended. You all made a positive and lasting impression!!!!  :sign0098:
