Visit the The Arizona Corn Belt Crappie Trail Facebook page (https://www.facebook.com/groups/azcrapppietrail) or Corn Belt Website (https://www.cornbeltcrappie.org) for rules, schedule, and to pay your annual $20 membership fee, which is required if you plan on entering any of the tournaments.

More details to come but the National Crappie League website is https://nationalcrappieleague.com/
Membership is $50 annually where half of that goes to the local Arizona charter.

This tournament trail is being put on by the National Crappie League's Crappie Fisherman of Arizona. You can get more information by reaching out to the organizers via the National Crappie League’s Crappie Fisherman of Arizona Facebook page at https://www.facebook.com/groups/169460015028474

Or, you can reach out to them directly:

More information to come, but it sounds like this next season starting in September 2023 the Arizona crappie tournament/trail group will be part of the National Crappie League and not part of the Corn Belt Crappie Trail. Brad Thomas, who runs the Corn Belt Crappie Trail nationally, took a job in Tennessee, and I'm not sure of what other changes but stay tuned for more details on this as they become available.  Our VP Cameron Giliam is working on setting all of the trail stuff up.

Info on National Crappie League: https://nationalcrappieleague.com/

Membership is $50 annually, and I believe Cameron said that half of that goes to the local/Arizona charter for their use. They are setting up a board, treasurer, etc. to make it legit.

From what I gathered, the National Crappie League is the "big league" nationally for crappie tournaments and such.

The tournament schedule outlined above is still the plan and many of the rules are the same.  More details to come over the next few months.

I looked at the Arizona Crappie Association history and it sounds like originally in 2007 we were a charter of the American Crappie Association and then in March we broke off into a separate independent club that we are today.  This is the American Crappie Association page: https://www.crappieusa.com

Note that the Arizona Crappie Association will remain an independent club as it is now, with AZCA members and non-members being able to join and attend National Crappie League events in Arizona. The AZCA doesn't have a direct affiliation with any of the tournament trails being mentioned however because it involves crappie fishing in Arizona and many members and non-members are interested in the tournament trail, we provide information about it.  I think last year worked out well being able to execute Arizona Crappie Association events (e.g. Spring Crappie Fest and Bob Hirsch Crappie Classic), monthly meetings, while also attending and supporting other events (e.g. Arizona Mule Deer Org tournaments, Corn Belt Crappie Trail tournaments, Let's Talk Fishin', etc.).

Cameron has asked on Crappie fisherman of arizona facebook page (https://www.facebook.com/groups/169460015028474):

--- Quote ---Good morning group
I need a count on teams that plan on fishing the national crappie league state trail here in arizona this year.    We are going to be having a get together here soon to go over all the rules and what to expect this year during our tournaments.
--- End quote ---

Please let him know if you plan on fishing the trail this year.

Hey everyone, they have set the schedule for the upcoming National Crappie League (NCL) Arizona Trail for 2023-2024 season.  Note that typically we'll have an AZCA meeting open to everyone the same days as NCL tournaments (after weighin and announcement of winners), but do check the azcrappie.com website beforehand to make sure.
Here is the schedule for the NCL tournaments as well as some AZCA and AZ Mule Deer crappie fishing events:
* NCL - September 23rd Lake Pleasant
* AZCA Bob Hirsch Crappie Classic (BHCC) October 7th Roosevelt Lake
* NCL - October 14th Roosevelt Lake
* NCL - November 11th Lake Pleasant
* NCL - November 12th Veterans Tournament Lake
Pleasant
* NCL - December 16th Bartlett Lake
* NCL - January 20th Bartlett Lake
* NCL - February 24th Roosevelt Lake
* NCL - March 23rd Alamo Lake
* AZCA Spring Crappie Fest (SCF) - April 6 Alamo or Roosevelt Lake (Date and Location TBD vote at BHCC)
* AZ Mule Deer Crappie tourney - April 13 Alamo Lake
* NCL - Championship TBD although tentative April 27-28 Alamo Lake

For those interested in the NCL tournaments, Cameron Gilliam, Randy Howton, and others will be doing a live feed this coming Monday 7pm-ish over at National Crappie League’s Crappie fisherman of arizona facebook page (https://www.facebook.com/groups/169460015028474) to go over a few things about the NCL tournaments, and to finalize a place and time for Saturday, September 9th 2023 for a mandatory meeting for NCL participants.  Cameron wants everyone there as you all will be voting for board members and going over all the rules and what has changed this year.

Cameron would like all to attend so he and Randy don’t have to go over it all 1000 times.  Hope to see you all there just make sure you like and follow that page and be online around 7pm-ish Monday to get notified when the live feed starts.

OneBlade:
The NCL AZ trail is looking for a few board members. And they need a scale/weigh master. So, if you are interested in helping out in either area, please let Cameron Gilliam (Crappie whisperer) or Randy Howton (Slipbobber72) know.

You can reach Cameron at 480-407-9037 and Randy at 623-640-9193 or through the Facebook page, National Crappie League’s Crappie Fisherman of Arizona: https://www.facebook.com/groups/169460015028474
