Bartlett May 27
« on: May 27, 2023, 03:57 PM »
We headed up into the river at first light past shiprock and fished the cottonwood trees at the first corner. Fish were tucked up in the brush and trees, but pretty active. We spider rigged with minnows and put the rigs right in front of them. Plenty of fish came out and looked, and then turned around with no interest. We tried that until 930 and decided to make a move. Headed into Cat bay and looked at the Christmas trees, but didn't fish it. Ended up in Alder cove. Tons of activity in there but it looked like smaller fish. Ended up with 3 crappie and 1 cat all caught up in the river. Water temps were 78 and up to 80 when we left at 1230. Probably could slay them up in the river at night under lights.

Thanks Dave for the report must be frustrating to see them check it out but not bite.  But pretty cool you can see that.

It was really good. At least compared to back in April. Still some debris on the lake. Alot of washed up debris at the Yellow Cliffs launch.

Also the Yellow Cliffs launch is completely different with the water levels. As long as everyone knows how to play the game
