Title: San Carlos 2/12
Post by: PhishingPhreek on February 12, 2011, 11:18 PM
Went out to San Carlos for the very first time with my sister today. I had full intent on attending the AZCA meeting, but because of some "misdirection" I ended up missing the meeting and didn't get out to the flotilla until 12:45. Had no idea what was biting so we started throwing just about every combination of gear we had. My sister landed our first fish after 45 minutes with simple Kalin jig on a 1/16 jig head. I finally landed my 1st one after another 45 minutes on a light colored Kalin (Don't know the color, I have way too many) on a 1/16 jig head as well.

We ended up with 8 total (4 each) Most of the fish we caught were a few feet below surface in 15'-17' water depth. Most of the fish we caught were with any of the lighter colored Kalins on a 1/16oz jig head tipped with a minnow and trolled as slow as I could. Fish were biting all the way until 6:00 for us. Biggest went 2.1lbs. Don't know how long it was, didn't measure. Below is a pic of my biggest two.
