I posted the results from the 3/23 Alamo Lake NCL tournament.  1st place went to Randy Howton and Cameron Gilliam with 10.37lbs (5 crappie).  They also got biggest crappie at 2.38lbs.  2nd place went to JT Butler and Eric Minar at 8.34lbs (5 crappie) and 3rd place went to James Rollins and Todd Waltz at 7.89lbs (5 crappie).  Wind picked up drastically at noon I heard.  Fish caught at different depths but heard Randy and Cameron got into a school of them shallow casting slip bobbers in there and not sure how the others caught them.

AZGFD will be stocking roughly 10,000 fingerling Black Crappie into Bartlett Lake from 6:30AM-9AM at Jojoba Boat Ramp on Tuesday April 2nd, 2024. Call for volunteers to help us distribute these fish. It's a BYOB (bring your own boat). We will be putting fish on boats by trash cans filled with lake water to distribute to desirable habitat around the lake.
If you or someone you know might be free on Tuesday morning and want to help, the sign up link is below:

All Other Lakes / 3/25/2024 Fishing Report & Upcoming Events

Here's your weekly Arizona Crappie fishing report, provided by Randy Howton (AZ Crappie Sniper Guide Service), Matthew Picklesimer (AZLeadWorks), Brian Bernard (Mudshark Marine), Cameron Gilliam (Crappie whisperer), and Richard Johnson as part of their weekly Monday night 7:30pm live feed on Facebook. To listen live and interact/comment, you just need to like and follow the "National Crappie League’s Crappie fisherman of arizona" Facebook page at https://www.facebook.com/groups/169460015028474.

Crappie Fishing Report 3/25/2024

Bartlett -- fishing was good until they started dumping water from Horseshoe in and now the bite is really tough. Still though you can find some big crappie in there.

Pleasant -- see fish all around on their graph, tried jigs and minnows all colors and they didn't want to bite.

Roosevelt -- still on fire, like Alamo, bite is everywhere shallow or deep or mid-level in trees pre-staging. You can troll, sit over a tree, or cast.

Alamo -- can catch crappie at all depths.  Many crappie last Saturday were caught using slip bobber up shallow.  Colors: Monkey milk with chartrues tail, as well as Pink and chartreus.  Average cast they said was 50ft so helps to stay far from the crappie when possible to not spook them.

Patagonia -- catching crappie up shallow in the reeds. You can't bring live bait but ok if you trap minnows or shad and use them.  Just toss your line in the reeds in 2ft of water.

Please do consider posting your own crappie fishing reports in our forum under "Lake Reports" at http://www.azcrappie.com/forum/index.php?action=forum

You can always get a live video/audio weekly crappie fishing report directly by tuning into the "National Crappie League’s Crappie fisherman of arizona" Facebook live feed on Monday nights around 7pm.

From Pam Kostka, Operations Project Manager, AZ/NV

Hello Folks,

It’s been about a year since the last issue of the Alamo Dam Newsletter was sent out.  Apologies for the long delay.  We were lucky enough to receive the highest amount of funding for conducting repair work at Alamo in years, so we’ve been busy putting that funding to good use!  More details included in the attached newsletter.  This newsletter we were also lucky enough to be able to include a guest article by the Arizona Game and Fish Department!  Happy reading!

If you have questions or concerns regarding anything Alamo please feel free to email AlamoDamSPL@usace.army.mil and as always if you’d like to be removed from this mailing list please reply to this email with the subject line of “unsubscribe”.

Sincerely,

Pam Kostka

I spoke with Dave (sparkchaser) and sounds like he'll be stepping up and doing the fish fry (with Larry and Mac as needed)

Who's gonna help out with other items?
