Title: Wednesday 7 Feb 2018

Hit the lake with a buddy of mine from Florida and after hearing all the good reports I thought it would be on like Donkey Kong but boy was I wrong.  We were on the lake by 0730 and off by 1200 with 8 Nice sized Crappie.  It was fairly windy all morning and never really let up the whole time we were on the water.  I had talked to a few people and the most I had heard being caught was 4.  Guess we did better than most but not stellar like the weekend before.  Fished in 19-13' FOW 5-10' down with the drop-shot rig and minnows on bare hooks.  Missed just as many fish so we could have doubled our numbers but they got off at the boat.  Not a terribly light bight but they didn't hammer it either.

If they weather people ever get it right this next weeks weather looks like it might slow things down. Possible rain showers Wed through Friday on and off with some wind and temps back down into the upper 60's. I had planned to give it a try this next week but think I will wait a week. Heard it is a zoo up there today going into the weekend with everyone fishing before the draw down that might occur.

Glad you go out Mac
