Title: Handheld Fish Scale
Post by: PhishingPhreek on November 13, 2019, 09:32 PM
When it comes to weighing your fish quick on the boat, what kind of scale do you prefer? I've always had the "hook through the gills" style, but I'm always worried about hurting their gills by mistake when I want to toss them back.
I saw Dave use the "lip hook" style over the weekend and that seemed pretty nice.

I was wondering what everyone else used and what you guys prefer.

Is there a reason you went with the lip hook over gill hook?

I upgraded from a non digital hook style, so accuracy was my first concern. Second was being able to weigh fish with teeth. This one came with pretty good reviews. I used it at the last tournament to weigh the big fish we had. Mine came in at 1.6, the tournament scale came in at 1.62
