Just for fun:
If you had to go with one single lure/jig setup, no bait, for black crappie, year round, in uncharted Arizona water, what would it be?
unpainted 1/16th oz. jighead with 2" Powergrub - pumpkinseed chartreuse
-
1/8th oz White tube with red head, bottom fringe
-
1/8 oz orange and green jig head with green and yellow bobby garland
-
you know my lure of choice that is all I use Dupont with 5 second fuse

5 second fuse, I get the 20 second fuse - more get away time
-
Split shot, Aberdeen hook, nose hooked grub bbc
-
I haven't had much success with tubes or fuses :violent5: for crappie but I have run aberdeen hooks to essentially "carolina rig" a crappie grub. Good stuff!
I thought we would have had a slab daddy, mini crank in lavender shad or something else by now!? I know I know, keeping your secrets..

Since live bait was not an option, I would have to choose a 1/16th oz chartreuse road runner with a 2 inch Kalins BBC
-
1/16 oz RR chartuse with bbc on the bottom with a 1/32 sickle head jig above it with acid rain. Color really needs to change as per the bite.
-
My best setup is a 1/4 oz chartreuse Kastmaster with the treble replaced with a single bait holder hook, then 30 inches above that an 1/8 oz Shell Cracker Slab Daddy. Killer combo.

unpainted 1/16th oz. jighead with 2" Powergrub - pumpkinseed chartreuse
ME TOO with exception of chartreuse jighead........
-
1/16 oz unpainted jig tipped with BBC two feet above a LC bevy crank
-
Since the topic has now gone to two lures, as many of us non casters use double rigs, I'll add my second.

+1
This is my goto bait the last few years.
Also, they don't make my pumpkinseed-chartreuse anymore in the 2" powergrub, now it's either pumpkinseed or natural chartreuse, the natural looks similar but it just isn't the same.

1/16 limetruse jig head with acid rain on a clip spinner
