If you have thought about joining the AZCA this is a good time. Our March 12, 2011 meeting is open to all registered user of azcrappie.com. It is 1 of 4 open meetings we have every year for prospective members. We will be gathering at Roosevelt Lake for a day of fishing and then have an official meeting to discuss club business.
Many of us will be camping that weekend as well. As it stands now we will be camping at Windy Hill and using the Ampithreater for our meeting but we are wokring on getting a group site at Grapevine instead.
Details will be posted when the final arrangements are made. But for now, you can mark your calenders for 3-12. I hope to see you there.

Our Meeting will be at the Windy Hill Ampithreater on 3-12. The time of the meeting will either be 1 pm or 4 pm. That will be announced on 3-2.

Looking forward to it.

I think I will try and make it. This sounds like my kind of club. I've been fishing for crappie in Arizona all of my life, and I just can't get enough of it. I'm still far from a crappie master, but I figure by the time I retire in 16 years, I might be close!

I look forward to meeting you guys.

I'm going to head up Friday the 11th with my 2 boys and tenting it overnight Friday and Saturday nights. I have another friend coming up and he is considering bringing his camper (trailer). It sounds like Grape Vine or Windy Hill will be where we camp. For either campground, are there any rules about bringing campers I should let my friend know about, e.g. no generators past a certain time, etc.?
-
Grapevine is groupsites only. We are staying at windy hill.

I'll be heading up very early Friday morning after work. Will be setting up camp at Windy Hill trying for Coati Loop if it's open. If the Coati Loop is closed, will most likely head over to Chipmunk. Will look for a camp loop that has a few open spots around so our group can stay somewhat together.
If anybody is heading up earlier, please let us know where you are so we can circle the wagons.
That's my plan anyway.......

As voted on by AZCA members, the March 2011 meeting will be at 1 pm, Saturday 3-12 at the Windy Hill Ampitheater.
Many of us will be camping for the weekend and meeting at the Bobcat ramp that morning at first light to launch. We will come back at 12:30 for lunch and the meeting. Some may go back out the PM bite or back to camp to relax.
I hope to see you there.

FYI - Attached is a map of Windy Hill Rec Area if needed.

Thanks cousinlll. Coati loop looks fairly small and next to host. I'm not sure how many people will show up but perhaps Chipmunk or Gray Fox or another area where we all can setup near each other may be best. No big deal though I guess. I'm planning on arriving 10 or 11ish on Friday morning. I'll tune my Talkabout radio to channel 7 without encryption or any security code set. If anyone else is there, please have your radio tuned so we can coordinate camping location. If you get in later, you can call me on that channel and I can provide you all of the hot spots I found on the lake :-)

;D Darn, I can't make it. I am also a member of a fly fishing club, and that is their outing date too. I try to make the next get together! You guys have fun!

Hi. I'm the newbie to this group. Wherever we camp, I need a space near restrooms/showers. I have always camped at Coati on the same loop as the campground host. Not too far from rr/showers in one of the doubles. I have a small trailer and a pontoon boat. I plan to come up early afternoon on 4/1. Don't know if this is important info for those who are setting things up. I'm a bit nervous about joining a group. First time as a groupie. :) I'm also nervous about keeping the pontoon boat in my space. Anyone else do this? Trailer, pontoon boat, truck? Is there enough room or should I plan to put the boat in the space next to my double? I'm looking forward to coming to the meeting 3/12. Haven't fished much since my Dad died last year. :fish: Thanks. PS how do I download the map? Have the new Windows 7 and I am not having any luck getting things like I had before.
-
Hey Blebecky, welcome!
I can't answer you questions on the camping, but to download the map you should just have to click on the link and Windows will ask you what you want to do with it (Open or Save). From there that's up to you. You can open and print it immediately or save it so you can go back to it in the future.
