Title: Carlos 3/11/17
Post by: Tweeder on March 12, 2017, 02:49 PM
Don't wait till you get to the Bashas to get permits if you venture out, had to go back to globe.  Lots of debris still floating around, hammered a log mid lake barely submerged.  Worked hard all day and ended up picking up 5 late afternoon uplake.  Lake has come up big time and it was like learning a new body of water from the Carlos I'm used to but all this moisture should help for the next few years I think.

Thanks for the report, nice to have some water back in that lake.  Any other boats out there?

I saw 4 other boats I think were crappie fishin, talked to one around 1:30 that stated they caught a couple but it was really slow.

My cousin is going over there tomorrow so told him about Bashas not selling permits anymore.  Thanks for that information. Could you share a little more info as to what you caught yours on, depth, presentation etc.  Also, does uplake mean away from the dam?  There was an earlier post about a guy catching a pretty good batch of them by the dam.

Plain minnows rigged a few different ways, it varied a little fish were shallow over deep water.  If I went again I would start at 40ft of water fishing no more than 5 ft deep. As the water warms fish will be moving in though.  And yes opposite direction of the damn, almost caddie corner if that makes sense.
