« Last post by Fishless on Today at 07:46 PM »
Had heard a rumor and then on the news tonight it was confirmed TNF will be closing Bermuda flats and horse pasture area on Tuesday locking the gates. Apparently they had a fire down there and the fire trucks could not get to the fire :dontknow: there is very little open area and lots of brush with people packed in there like sardines so for safety issues they are closing that area till further notice.

Great job!! nice slabs are the crappie still hanging out in deep water :dontknow:

i think they are both deep and shallow but these giants were in the deeper stuff down in all those submerged trees. if you aint tipping off the branches and getting hung up in the trees frequently, your not deep enough was the advise I got many years ago by the great one and it worked!

On the water for 6 hours until we had enough of the wind that came up early.  Nice to see AZGFD officer checking people and a very cool way he did it without interfering with our fishing.  Caught all 16 crappie and one channel cat in 18' of water fishing 5' to 8' deep.  Only saw two other fish caught and all we talked to didn't get any.  Water is very clear and mostly upper 60's.

Tough day fishin but beautiful weather.  Only managed to boat one blacknose in 45ft of water on the tonto end.  Tried to replicate Art's success but he's a class above the rest.  Best part though was my daughter caught it on her rod with a pink and purple Kalins and it's a subspecies I've never even caught.  She's got one up on dad.
