Bald eagle breeding closure areas lifted on some Arizona lakes and rivers
PHOENIX — The Arizona Game and Fish Department and its partners are lifting some of the closures at lakes and rivers statewide that are put into place annually to help bald eagles during the breeding season.
The closures at the following four sites were removed effective March 31, 2013 because the bald eagles in these areas failed to produce young and will not breed this late in the spring:
• Lake Pleasant
• Verde River near Chasm Creek
• Tonto Creek Inlet to Roosevelt LakeTonto Creek from Gisela to 76 Ranch

river at pleasant has been opened since about noon on 3/29, nice to have it back

Never lived anywhere but here. I wish thou the eagles did nest. It's real amazing to see them at Bartlett. My buddy and I were their one day last year eagle swooped down right in front of us grabbed a fish took off to shore and ate it up. It was bad aZz. Anyways I can't wait to go back in the river arm never been back their in my boat but now got new motor it's on. Stripers better watch out heard that's the best place to find em.

I had the same thing happen at Sag one day when GnF was stocking trout. It sounded like a jet coming down right over our heads. Snatched a trout and was gone. AWESOME!
