Title: Stocking crappie at Bartlett lake 2/21/23
Post by: Fishless on February 23, 2023, 06:39 AM
Gary Senft bass fishing guide came out and help along with 3 g and f boats in stocking crappie Tuesday, he made a you tube video, we lucked out just a light sprinkle of rain before we started until after we finished then it rained pretty good. Best news NO WIND so it made it easy to head up and down the lake without getting soaked.

That's cool Bruce and thanks for helping out on that.  I saw Amberlee there from AZGFD. Any other familiar faces from the the AZ Crappie Association or AZGFD there?

I was it for the crappie club, other people were WM officers and a couple new people from the Mesa fisheries branch. I went out with the two WM on their boat as they were not familiar with the lake and we were taking 3 barrels each trip so being I knew the artificial and natural habitat it worked out well. The crappie were distributed in quite a few areas. With no wind it made it easy to travel fast up or down lake ;D. After we were done the stocking truck headed to Roosevelt with Art C. group

And nice picture of those little crappie.

they were smaller crappie than years past but with the lake up we found lots of flooded brush etc for them to hide till they grow some (which at least at Bartlett) has been amazing
