Don't forget, this weekend is the LTF tournament at Roosevelt Lake.  Weather should be good looks like it's finally cooling off.  Anyone going to try and attend?

Team Chamberlin for sure. Mike Elliot told me Team Elliot may enter the Avid Angler bass division as well as the crappie division! I'm not sure who else is entering? Hope to see you Saturday. ......Art

Art, how did it go yesterday?  Had a friend that was going to fish the Crappie side but he decided not to.

So did everybody else! The bass bit good but I think the incoming weather affected the crappie. We caught 2 crappie just before noon five minutes apart on jig and minnow in 31 feet of water and that was it. We came in two hours early and weighed 2.11 with a 1.09 for big fish. Kasey caught a 10.20 lb. channel cat for goon fish. Avid Anglers goon fish for about 50 boats was a 3.31 lb. channel cat and paid $440. darn!!! I hope with rule change a few of you might be willing to enter? ......Art

Art hinted on something here.  LTF may (is) changing their rules to allow 4 people on boat (instead of 2) and be more inline with AZCA tournament rules.  The hope is it may allow others to enter tournaments who may not with the 2 person minimum.

I mentioned LTF would be good doing more posting in AZ Crappie Fishing Facebook page as that has 3K people watching - who knows how many of them actually crappie fish but it's another avenue to try.

Their site is not updated with any stats for this season, I'm sure it's COVID related. How many boats usually fish these tournaments?  If they increased the person per boat limit to 4 will they still only be allowed 4 poles or would they also increase the pole limit?

Hi Art,

I caught the 3.31 catfish for the goon fish for $440.  It was a nice payout for sure.  I was on the North shoreline, about due North of Grapevine and I thought I caught the tournament winning bass.  After battling it for about 5 minutes, it was a catfish and not a prize bass.....

The goon fish payout is nice because it covers our fees for other tournaments and we appreciate the opportunity....

The same as ACA rules: two to four anglers in a boat but a maximum of four poles per boat. ......Art

Well I for one don't agree with up to 4 people per boat, and I will call Tracey to voice my opion on issue. Unless they raise the entry fee for each angler over 2 per boat. Just my thought

Kasey and I did fish Saturday (Eddie's brother passed away Friday night) and we had a tough day. We weighted 7 crappie for 7.12 and got whipped again by Dille and Geist again as they weighed over 13 plus pounds with a 3 pounder for big fish!!! .......Art

Reminder, the next LTF tournament is Sat Jan 23rd, and this coincides with the AZCA meeting right after weigh-in of the crappie participants, but before announcement of winners.  See http://www.azcrappie.com/forum/index.php/topic,4524.0.html for details.
