Title: 11/17/19
Post by: on the rocks on November 18, 2019, 07:31 AM
Marvin and I launched safe light and headed straight to Cat Bay. Wind was decent 5-10 most of the morning with spells of dead calm. We fished 20-30 feet of water trolling double rigs no grubs tipped with minnows. We ended up with 15 crappie and 20+ bass. Three of the crappie were blacknosed 11" in length and returned to the water with 1 of black crappie 11" The 11 we kept were slabs all about 1.75 lbs. The bass were also released with a couple in the 2 lb. range. Off the water at 11:30. Side note got the minnows at Wild West. I bought 5 dozen received 8 or 9 dozen but 75% of them were the gold colored minnows. Crappie and bass did not seem to have a preference but I had never bought minnows with that many being golden. Usually just a couple mixed in.

Cool nice job guys.  I really wanted to get there last weekend before this storm rolls through the valley.  They are great sized fish there huh?

Bruce,

Yeah we fished Sunday (out of our norm) but Marv had a side job and I had to attend a celebration of life event for a dear friend that passed on Saturday. We were both wanting to give Bartlett a try before the front moves in.
