Title: Alamo 4/9
Post by: OneBlade on April 12, 2017, 04:16 PM
Forgot to post after this weekend at Alamo lake.  Fished pretty hard Saturday, 4/9, primarily casting to shore with jigs with minnows.  Didn't catch any right near shore - most were caught closer to the boat.  Also caught 1 on bobber behind boat and another off front vertical trolling.  Moved around a lot and only caught 1 in each area.  Weather was pre-front so perhaps one may do better this week.  Fished 8am to 2pm and only caught 5.

Heard/saw lots of action near shore but may have been carp.  Talked to others and they had similar results - some had better luck earlier in the week.

What was the condition of the lake, still muddy, full of debris and so on

I didn't think lake was full of much debris.  I liked the look of the lake on the side opposite the dam - lots of trees out of the water, green.  Ramps are nice.

Lake has cleared nice healthy stain but not muddy, no debris floating anywhere, water temp 68 down near dam 76 up lake toward river end, very few people there.
