Thanks Bruce, I had someone reach out and tell me it was open a week or two ago, and I was skeptical nor could I find info online saying it was.  Appreciate the post as do the lurkers/readers of this site.

Pleasant / Status of river closure at lake pleasant
« Last post by Fishless on April 24, 2024, 04:05 PM »
Talked with eagle coordinator today, eagle nest in Coles has 2 fledgling eagles (nest is way off the water so no closure needed) the nest at the white cliffs in the river has 3 baby eagles and they are doing fine so far, the upper nest way up river has no eagles would of been nice if table mesa ramps could open but water not there yet by 6-7 feet as the lake goes up. At this point if the 3 eagles on the white cliffs nest continue to be ok we will not have the river open till June 15

General Discussion / Re: Kayak Crappie Fishing

While I don't fish from a kayak agree with Jpeel.  Pretty much any of the coves on the ramp side of the lake between Schoolhouse ramp and grapevine should hold fish and be somewhat protected.

Just now joined and saw your post, so no idea if this is in time for you or not!

I like the Grapevine point area for kayak fishing, two major coves immediately east and west of the ramp have good depth and cover for crappies.

Alamo / Re: Mule Deer Tournament?

Anybody fish it?
Steve, I think Dave (and Larry?) were going to go but had an unexpected issue come up and weren't able to attend.  A few AZCA members attended (e.g. Cameron, Randy, Matthew, Brian, etc.).  I saw a few pictures including the pig roast they did Friday. They had past member Richard Johnson do the National Anthem on his guitar at Saturday's boat launch.  Randy got 1st place, Cameron got 2nd place and biggest crappie, and Matthew got 3rd place.  Still some crappie being caught at Alamo.
