I'm useless. Watertemps were cold. It was a Friday, about 5 total boats crappie fishing...one realy old pontoon was long line trolling, the other 4 were live scoping.

Awesome job guys. Someday I hope to learn the new tech. How were water temps? Were there a lot of boats out?

Alamo / Alamo Dec 29, 2023

Did a 2 night, one day trip to Alamo. Had a great Thursday night hanging by the fire with Matty oneblade, his parents, and LLL. Thanks to LLL's hospitality, I had a comfy trailer to sleep in both nights. Fished First light Friday until about 5pm. Besides it being cold, amazing weather, zero wind. LLL taught me the way of the livescope. And we tag teamed with him attacking the fish from 0-35 feet out, and me getting the 35-80 feet away fish. (He had a short rod, I was casing with the 11 footer).   I'm bad with numbers, and my scale photo focused on the big fish weight, but we had 8 or nine very quality fish. Biggest ate a pink/red roadrunner at 2.38. All fish where livescope targeted, 28ish FOW, and most were single ID fish, 10 -15 foot down. Fished out of LLL's Ranger. All fish released.

Alamo / Alamo Dec 28

Fished Alamo with my parents afternoon of Wed Dec 27 and all day Thur Dec 28.  I suck. Got a few bites but didn't catch a single crappie.  Cousinlll hopefully will post he had good results using LiveScope and targeting crappie - had to try multiple times and hit them in the head basically.  We had some long line jigs out, 1 long pole off front vertical trolling, and also a rod with jig and minnow I was casting to fish as I saw them.  Haven't had that bad of an Alamo trip in years.  Back to the drawing board I guess.

FYI - save the date (and book your campsites) for Jan 12-14.  Going to be a party at Alamo lake with a few AZCA members going and some live music at Wayside on Saturday.  Details here: http://www.azcrappie.com/forum/index.php/topic,5032.0.html

Crappie Questions / Re: BARTLETT UPDATE
« Last post by OneBlade on December 29, 2023, 02:55 PM »
Hey Ron, welcome back! I also haven't seen much for recent posts at Bartlett. They had a National Crappie League (NCL) tournament there a few weeks ago and I heard fishing was really tough.  All I can say is use your livescope and cast to the fish.  Takes multiple tries but you may land some that way.  Also, water level has fluctuated in that lake recently, as it often does, so be sure and check that as well.  I think water level is down so you may not be able to go up river much past the island up there because it might not be deep enough.
