Title: SCF Fish Fry, Potluck & Campfire
Post by: cousinlll on March 24, 2014, 01:52 PM
SCF Fish Fry & Potluck supper will be on Saturday evening at the Goose Loop.  Time TBD but a bit after the derby & club meeting

Unlike last year, we'll probably need some fish for Sandman to fry up so donations of fillets from your freezer will be greatly appreciated!

Potluck supper also so please bring a dish or two to pass.  Maybe we should post what we're bringing so we don't end up with 10 cakes, 25 pies & 300 cookies - not that there's anything wrong with that!   :dontknow:

Het Matt, you still have those Chinet platter style/size paper plates?  We'll probably need more of these: http://www.kmart.com/chinet-platters-value-pack-classic-white-12-5-8/p-029W788497110001P along with forks, spoons & knifes.  So if anybody would like to volunteer to supply some for the group, again it'll be greatly appreciated!

Now for the campfire - if anybody's able to bring a bag or two or three of firewood for the weekend it would be appreciated!

I'll bring some fillets from Alamo and the rest of the walleye from Powell. I'll get a new batch of tarter sauce made and probably some brownies. I'm hoping our night fishing excursions will produce again like last year. We picked up 50 the first night and around 30 the second night. We may need a few more boats out there to help find them. 911 you out there?

I just got the side of my house filled with firewood for $30.  Many free deals on craigslist - thanks to it and IFTTT.com.
http://phoenix.craigslist.org/search/?sort=rel&areaID=18&subAreaID=&query=firewood|%22fire+wood%22+free&catAbb=sss

I will bring some to share but will need some for my campsite in case kids want to play mafia and so forth.

So, I'm thinking weather permitting maybe do some Thursday night fishing.  Wadefisherman, cousinlll, others, are you in for Thursday night?  I have open seats - anyone want to join me or can I join your boat?  What time do I need to be there to launch the same time as everyone else.  Can't night fish Friday night as my parents and kids are coming in then so that's out.

Channel 7 subchannel 1 would be helpful.  My cell doesn't work on that lake except on the Tonto end.

Thursday evening we will have a big pot boiling with crab boil. Bring your own and you're welcome to use the pot. Crabs, shrimp, lobster, sausage, potatoes, corn, whatever. The pot will be kind of spicy.

I had planned to have two big pots going but can only find one of mine. If Piscolli has his chowda pot, we can get two pots going.

Kelley, I won't be up there until Friday, but I have an entire settup here for what you are talking about. If you want it for Thursday night, I'm pretty sure I can make arrangements to make that happen.

Thanks Dave. Piscolli will have his rig there so we are good to go.

We will do one pot 'Mild' and one let's say 'Not Mild'.

Judging from the WindCast and the front that just dropped in, I would say yes.
