Alamo / Alamo 10-11 thru 10-13
« Last post by Fish Hawk on October 15, 2018, 08:02 AM »
We Tight-lined minnows and grubs down 15'-25' deep in 30' of water all weekend. We fished Thursday late afternoon boating seven or so fish. I had a double on Thursday, its been awhile since I've had a double. On the water Friday morning around 7:30. We burned thru all our minnows by 11:30 (it was a light bite) and we just replaced minnows with grubs and kept catching fish. We kept 25 crappie and threw back another 7 or so that where small. I ended the day with two separate doubles. On Saturday fishing conditions was tough. We had white water coming over the bow of the boat and went in till the storm blew over. Back on the water around 10 and ended the day with 10 fish.

Alamo / Alamo 10/11-13 BHCC

Fished Alamo Thursday afternoon through Saturday afternoon for the derby. Cholla launch is a bit rough, but usable. When launching there stay closer to the dock. I did see quite a few boats launching from the ramp down from the store. Water temps were 73 to 75. We tried various waypoints I had stored from previous years all over the lake, We went up as far as 8 feet of water, and down to the to the dam. Most of our success came in 30 FOW tight lining minnows about 15 to 25 feet down. We ended up with 35 total with most of the fish right at 1 pound.

I met Jeff last weekend when we were trying to figure out what was wrong with my motor.  Pat and George were working on mine and Jeff was working on an older speedboat that had most of it's wiring chewed up by rats.

Hopefully, Pat will get my boat fixed this next week and the weather will cooperate next weekend.  I'm really looking forward to getting on Roosevelt fishing for the first time...

M&S Marine.  I took it out for it's maiden voyage last week and it alarmed before I got it out of the no-wake zone at windy hill.  It ran fine, but kept alarming, so I just loaded it up and took it to the shop.  Bad sensor in the oil tank, so it's getting a new oil tank.  Should be ready next weekend.  They had it for a couple of weeks after I first bought it and drove it home from Dallas.  It got a new impeller and LU oil.

I've never been on Roosevelt and this was the boats first time in the water in 2 years.  I'm a bit disappointed I couldn't get much past the no-wake zone, but better to be safe than sorry.....

General Discussion / They moved the dock at Johoba (main launch) at Bartlett
« Last post by Fishless on October 12, 2018, 06:06 AM »
G and F crews moved the dock at the main ramp at Bartlett over from the left to the right side of the ramp. The main cable had broken on the original spot and you had to launch tie up then walk over the rock pile to get back to your tow vehicle. It made it hard for people who needed to launch their boat with a rope and pull it to the dock to get the boat off and to the dock. The new placement basically took up 1/2 of launching lane but there is good water on both sides of the dock now and they are going to remove that one black and white buoy out from the dock that is serving no purpose. Private vendor also came in and re-sealed the parking lot and as soon as the rain is gone they will finish striping it.
