Title: Spring Crappie-Fest 2013
Post by: Piscolli on February 10, 2013, 12:01 PM
This is the big annual spring event of the AZCA. It is an open meeting, fishing trip and camp out for all registered users of azcrappie.com, not just AZCA members. If your not already an official AZCA member, this would be a great chance for you to meet some of the crew and see is the AZCA is for you.

SCF 2012 begins Friday April 5th, 3 pm at the Coot Loop inside of the Grapevine Recreation Area, Roosevelt Lake AZ. Friday night is for camp set up, a BBQ and a bonfire. The AZCA will provide charcoal for the grills. Saturday the 6th at 7 am there will be a fishing derby followed by an AZCA meeting at 4 pm and a big old fish fry! Sunday morning is breakfast, tear down and head home.

I personally want to thank you for your participation on azcrappie.com. If you have any questions about our club that you don't find the answer for here on our site, feel free to contact me or any of our club officers.

Attached are the form you will need to camp and/ or fish in the derby.

Me, Jay and Repo (Team Cream Puff) hope to see you at Spring Crappie-Fest 2013!

Wow, lots of good competition - I might have to sit this one out!  Or as derby director, I do take bribes in the form of freezer packed bags of crappie and DogFish Head IPA.

Hopefully, with no objections--Saturday Fish fry
Camp N Nana and I will start the  deep frying and commence serving at 18:00 ( 6 pm)
We will have one complete table organized to accept side dishes, special area for deserts' PLEASE have sides on the table NLT 17:45.( Officers of the Club---I will buy Oil, Paper Plates, bowls, forks ,knifes and spoons--for reimbursement)
For those concerned, anticipate 30-40 for dinner, however, each side should provide enough for 8-10 "small" portions.
***** Serving at 6 pm should provide adequate time for a few relaxing adult beverages before dinner  :D
***** Need committed Volunteers for:
Fish Cleaning
Station hardware to deep fry Vegetables
Clean up crew on Sunday morning( Whaler and I completed this task the last 2 years--need new blood)

Bump.  Any AZCA member attending not currently assigned a duty this weekend and staying over into Sunday AM want to help on this?  I'll be leaving early Sun AM and can pick up stuff but not being the last to leave I'm not sure I'll get everything.  Desert Rat/Whaler - what did this entail?  I know you hosed down the area but besides that and picking up trash, what else?

Fish Cleaning

As long as it's ok to have "a few relaxing adult beverages" I'd be happy to help clean some fish. I'm surely not fast but I'll help make a dent once mine (if any) are cleaned up.

We should be in good shape for cleaners. Bring your knives and if there's a tableful of fish to clean, pitch in and help.

Blue cooler.

Also keep in mind that we need FISH for the fish fry. Don't throw back any catfish, bluegills or legal green carp (bass).

I usually fish sunday AM but I'll surely do clean-up duty with the others.

Not really a major effort to clean up--Campn Nana and I have usually been the last out--we walk the entire camp site and pick up any litter, wash all tables and hose off entire eating area--I bring my 100 foot hose for this chore---The members usually leave a very clean slate. Some---very few---leave a beer can, trash bag , cig butts etc---these are the exception. The major effort is covering the eating/meeting area--including the fire pit--
This year, we are considering leaving early and setting up camp at Bartlett ---space there is a premium--just thought I would ask for new responsibility---

David, you guys take off and get your spot at Bartlett. The site has never been left a mess and there's no worry that this group would leave a mess. It does always tend to be the same few cleaning up so I hope everybody pitches in and helps.
