After a couple of failed attempts on the east end of the lake looking for spawning crappie, we moved to the Tonto side. Much clearer water, and cooler temps. We saw 70 on the Salt side, 64 on the Tonto side. Visibility was 6 inches on the Salt, 4 feet on the Tonto. We pounded the shore line with jigs, and tried up to 25 FOW on the Salt side with minnows.

After moving, we found all of our fish in 24 to 35 FOW. All but one came on double minnow rigs tight lined 7 to 10 feet down. The other came on a BBC jig. We ended up with 10 crappie, and to many to count bass.

We fished from 730 to 4. We stayed up lake in 12 to 24 FOW. We tight lined minnows 4 to 8 feet below the surface. Water clarity was pretty good, but there was some small debris on the surface in a few areas. We picked up 10 before it got windy at 1030, then the bite really slowed. We spent most of the afternoon exploring new area, as there is so much water in there now. A couple of times on my Lakemaster chip, it showed us being on land from the time they scanned it. We ended up with 14 in the boat, and lost 4 more. The males we caught turned jet black in the live well. Females eggs are starting to get bloody. Water temps were 65 to 69.

Tough conditions as the lake was muddy, and temps were 51 to 53 that we saw. Caught one crappie mid lake tight lining a minnow. Fish came right off the bottom in 25 to 30 FOW. Wind blew all afternoon, which made things worse.

We fished from 7 to 3. Tough conditions as the lake is a mess. Debris everywhere, and the lake was pretty muddy. We searched for clearer water and caught 11 crappie in 15 to 18 FOW. We tight lined minnows, and threw jigs right on top of the brush line below us. Water temps were 52 mid lake, 54 up lake.

Fished from 0730 to noon. We tight lined minnows in Cat Bay. Most of our fish came right off the trees, but we did get a couple suspended in 30 FOW later in the morning. It was breezy, and the water temp stayed right at 52. We ended up with 8 crappie, 3 bluegill, and 2 bass

Fished with Fishman from first light until noon, then went back out after the meeting until 2:30. We ended up with 6 crappie, all caught with minnows. Bite was extremely light,  and we missed quite a few due to using rod holders. We did try jigs, with no success. We stayed in 15 to 25 FOW fishing 10 to 15 feet down. Lake was up 5 to 7 feet since I had been there last. Water temps were in the high 50's.

Fished from 8 until 1 near Yellow Cliffs. A bit breezy most of the day. but manageable. Brought home 15 nice crappie like the one in the pic. All were just under 2lbs. I spot locked over the schools and trees and picked up 3 to 4 then moved on to the next area. Lost about a half dozen more trying to land them by myself. Tough with the 14 foot rod sometimes. Beautiful day, hardly any traffic on the lake. Stayed in 16 to 25 FOW fishing 14 to 16 feet down.

The schools were so dense it changed the depth on the graphs a few times. Notice in the one pic it shows 9.4 feet

Fished from 1 until 5. Ran out of light, and left them bitting. Tight lined minnows very slow above the trees uplake between Cat Bay and Yellow Cliffs. Best bite came on the 1oz drop shot rigs. Caught 11 crappie 5 bass, 1 bluegill. Quite a bit of traffic through the area until 3. Once the traffic slowed, the bite really picked up.

We started Saturday afternon tight lining monnows verically, and found an extremely light bite. We only fished for 2 hours and stayed on the no ski buoy line boating 4. We were fishing right on top of the trees in 25 to 30 FOW

Sunday we fished from 0830 to 1530. We started and ended on the no ski buoy line with a trip up lake to the north shoreline. Various depths, open water, over structure. We tried minnows vertical, crankbaits, and jigs. Ended up boating 4.

Monday we fished from 0900 to 1600. We fished the hazard buoys on the north shoreline. We long lined double jig rigs all day trolling  at . 9 to 1 mph. Best color was BBC. Best depth was 30 to 40 FOW about halfway down in the column. We ended up with 8 for the day.

Launched at 8 from ringtail. Spent most of the day marking new habitat that had been added since I had been out. I ended up with 8 crappie 2 bluegill, and one bass. Crappie came tight lining minnows. The drop shot rig outperformed the caps and coleman rig hands down. Packed it up at 1530 for the meeting. Water temps in the upper 60's

I did finally catch my first black nose crappie :headbang:

Fished Alamo Thursday afternoon through Saturday afternoon for the derby. Cholla launch is a bit rough, but usable. When launching there stay closer to the dock. I did see quite a few boats launching from the ramp down from the store. Water temps were 73 to 75. We tried various waypoints I had stored from previous years all over the lake, We went up as far as 8 feet of water, and down to the to the dam. Most of our success came in 30 FOW tight lining minnows about 15 to 25 feet down. We ended up with 35 total with most of the fish right at 1 pound.

My son and I made it out this morning from 6:30 until it got to hot at noon. We concentrated on the Georgia cube habitats from Rock Island to Windy Hill. We boated 20 crappie, one bass, and one cat. The crappie were 12 inch clones except for one that was probably a pound and a half. All fish came vertical trolling minnows spider rigged right on top of the cubes. Water temps were low 80's
