The tanker from Arkansas was already at the bottom of the Cholla ramp when we arrived at 6:45. We had six boats hauling over 10,000 mostly 6" crappie with several in the 10 to 11 inch range. My boat hauled six good sized loads while Dave N hauled 10. We were done at 8:30. Great job Az. G & F! Fished until 12:30 and caught 6 bass but sadly no crappie. I'll keep trying! ....Art

This may change to the ACA starting procedure at the start of the new season in September. Roosevelt / LTF Crappie 3/16
« on: March 03, 2019, 02:42 PM »
I talked to Tracy Purtee of Let's Talk Fishing a couple of nights ago and he said the crappie division of LTF will kick off for sure a week from Saturday, the 16th. He said the entry form and rules are now up on Let's Talk Fishing. com. I know fishing will not great due to the rapidly rising water but he said if we get enough interest he will put a crappie division on the schedule going forward. It would be the first crappie circuit in Arizona and for $80 per team it should be fun (plus you get fed). ........Art

Roosevelt / Tonto Basin snow!
« on: February 19, 2019, 07:17 AM »
I woke up this morning to an unexpected inch of snow covering my whole yard (elv.2300') and all directions as far as the eye can see! I canceled today's fishing and the rest of the week. The Forest Service pulled the Cholla dock up on land so people could walk on  it without soaking their feet. Then they went to Windy Hill to do the same at Badger and Ringtail. When they got back to Cholla the dock entry was under water again! Good luck to Wild West Bass who are here Saturday. .......Art

For the first five hours we never got bit but on the fourth habitat between 2 and 3 we boated 3 crappie on minnows. Now we have another frontal system headed our way! What else is new? ..........Art
