Fishless I sure hope you are right... I'm going to give it another shot this weekend.  I need to catch some crappie!  4 trips so far 0 crappie.   :crybaby2:

Are you moving around the lake or fishing the same areas? I think I saw a post where you said you graphed them everywhere, but couldn't get them to bite. Are you trolling or pounding the shoreline?

Have you been fishing deeper? I feel like that when you start catching the males up shallow, you'll find the females a little deeper, but still around there.

Man! Why weren't they doing that last week when I was fishing up shallow!

I'm not too familiar with the White Mountain lakes. Does Big Mountain flow into Rosey through the salt or would it flow towards Gila River and go to San Carlos?

Wow, would have been cool to show my son.  Been a few years since I last saw one at camp (probably Apache +5 years ago)

I showed it to my brother's step daughter (weird to say that now...) and she thought it was cool. She even poked it with her finger. haha

Last one I saw was under Preston's truck at the last SCF we had at Alamo. Seems like there's always one making an appearance at SCF.

I always love catching those monster bass on a minnow and a bobber! Chances are I'm using a light rod so the fight is fun!  ;D

I haven't made it to one yet, but I would love to try. I just won't know until we get closer.
Between my elk hunt in September and decorating for Halloween and Christmas, it will be tough.

I know I could always call ahead, but I'm always concerned that they won't have any left when I get up there so I always like to try and load up here.

Any idea what they charge for minnows up there? I paid almost $9 for 2 dozen at Bartlett earlier this week. Not sure I want to pay that much again!

Called BPS and they said they have them in stock and do sell them (2.99 a dozen). No idea if they're good in size or anything, but small minnow is better than no minnow!

Thanks for the suggestions, but those are all out of the way for me.  I live in North Phoenix and work downtown. :-\

I will call several locations and see what they have though. Jakes Corner is the one I usually stop at when I come in.

Can someone verify that the stores up there have minnows in stock tomorrow? My only option to get minnows is to take an extended lunch tomorrow or get them at the stores OTW up. I would hate to find out they don't have any when I get up there.

On a side note... Anyone know if Bass Pro carries minnows? I know Cabela's does, but that's a long drive from work.

Yeah, it's still pretty dirty. Not nearly as bad as you made it seem, drama queen, but it was dirty.

Water temps were between 67-71 for me.

I didn't use it, but when I was out on the lake yesterday and saw that the SB ramp was open. I think Fishless used it earlier this week or last week.

Went on a solo mission yesterday to look for the elusive 2019 Bartlett Crappie  :violent-smiley-007:

Before I start this report I think it's important to know that you should NEVER rely on getting a Tonto Pass at the marina store, because if they're sold out you have to go to the kiosk and pay $18 for a day pass. Lesson learned......

Anyway, I launched at the Jojoba Ramp around 12:30 with the plan of speed fishing all my favorite spots. Because I've heard nothing good from everyone fishing up the river, I wanted to start up around the main channel. Figured water clarity would be better (It wasn't much better) and so it could be warmer.

I drifted minnows, drifted jigs, tossed minnows with a bobber, tossed MANY MANY colored jigs and was only able to catch one crappie on a road runner with a purple grub. I caught her in a small cove off the main channel south of Adler. Hammered that area and couldn't get another bite.  :dontknow:

The areas I hit up were Rattlesnake Cove, the unnamed coves off the main channel, Crappie Cove, the cove up by Ship Rock, and the south wall just past the No Wake markers.

I was dissapointed I was only able to catch one, but it was a pretty nice one and it seems like a lot of people aren't having luck here, so I can't be too upset. Hope we can figure this out soon!

Vu Au with the Catch of the Week

Don't typically see crappie as the AZGFD "Catch of the Week", but Vu Au caught some nice slabs out of there last week. Looks like it could be pretty good crappie fishing for our southern AZ guys!
