I live near Tucson and have always connsidered myself a trout fisherman.  An encounter with a fisherman in the White MOuntains has given me an interest in learning about Crappie fishing.  We typically fly fish running waters and I'm wondering if fishing with flies is a practical idea
I have a 10" inflatable with an electric motor that I could use.

Any feedback appreciated.

Crappie are in deeper water (around 15') so fly fishing for crappie may be a little difficult. In the spring crappie move in to the shallows for spawn, you could fly fish for them than.

Wet flies should work if you can find what depth the Crappie are at and let your fly sink deep enough. The most important thing in Crappie fishing is depth! If your bait is below their eyes or too far above them, you won't have much luck if any.

often crappies will be shallow and they would love a muddler or streamer. in 2-3 ft. your there.
