Hydrofoil Recomendations
« on: December 28, 2023, 12:40 PM »
Hey guys, I have a 16 Foot Lowe Fisherman, deep and wide, and the 50HP 2011 Mercury 4 stroke does a nice job with just me or me and a buddy zipping along at 30+. . But when we have 3 or 4 on board, I struggle to get on plane and just plow through the water at like 15MPH. . What's everyone's thoughts and suggestions on adding a Hydrofoil?  Types, Drill holes or get a clamp on style?  Brand? Etc.
When in doubt, set the hook!

Don't put three or four people on your boat.  Problem solved.

But I have a lot of friends, and I like them, and they like me.
When in doubt, set the hook!

That seems like enough motor,  but maybe not.  Maybe try a different prop?
