AZCA January 2024 Meeting at Alamo Lake
« on: January 03, 2024, 07:18 AM »
The January 2024 meeting will be held at Alamo Lake on Saturday, January 13th at campsite B24 at 4pm.

A few of us are headed to Alamo Lake Thur Jan 11 through Sun Jan 14 camping in the B-loop (B22, B24, B25). Our plan is to fish Friday and Saturday. Regardless if you are an AZCA member or not, we'd love to have you join us. I'm sure we'll be having a campfire on that Friday night and the plan is to hold an AZCA meeting on Saturday around 4pm my campsite before we head to Wayside for some live music (Tex-Az Troubadours https://www.facebook.com/TexAzTroubadours band playing from 6:30-10pm). Alamo Lake has been producing some quality 2+lb crappie lately so it's sure to be a good time.

Book your campsite here: https://azstateparks.com/reserve/#alamo-lake/camping

It was great seeing everyone this last weekend at Alamo Lake. While weather was cold at night, it was nice out during the day with no wind and nice sunny days.  Everyone caught some crappie primarily using LiveScope to target individual fish.  Fish caught with jigs in 30-50ft of water with fish. We voted in a new member David Toyne - welcome to the club David!

Friday night we had a nice campfire and Saturday we headed to Wayside Resort/Bar for food, drink, and live music by the Tex-Az Troubadours (https://www.facebook.com/TexAzTroubadours).  Scott's (TweakJr) wife Bridget even went up and played harmonica for Piano Man and the final song Closing Time.  Scott helped out on tamborine a few songs and we all got out there and danced a few songs.
